Lymphoma cancer is cancer of the lymphatic system (lymph nodes, thymus gland, spleen and bone marrow). According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), there are two types of lymphoma are Hodgkin's lymphoma (Hodgkin's disease) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma begins in the lymphatic system in which the tumor develops from a type of white blood cells called lymphocytes (either T cells or B-cells). Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is much more commonly referred to as Hodgkin's disease. While Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer that attacks the immune system characterized by the presence of a type of cell called the Reed-Sternberg cells (large cells are usually derived from B lymphocytes).

Cause
Scientists do not yet know exactly what causes lymphoma, but scientists have been able to identify several potential risk factors, these factors are genetic (inherited by family members) and carcinogens, as often found in certain pesticides, herbicides and solvents such as benzene, some hair dyes and free radicals.

Symptoms
Patients with Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma usually have swollen lymph nodes, weight loss, abdominal pain or bloating, night sweats, fever and chronic fatigue. Some sufferers also experience chest pain, difficulty breathing daam, extremely itchy skin, loss of appetite.

Treatment
If the lymphoma is likely to grow slowly, your doctor may suggest to wait and see before deciding what treatment plan will be taken. In this case, cancer therapies can sometimes delay the growth of cancer for at least one year.

In most cases of Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkins, which is taken of treatment options are chemotherapy, radiation and a stem cell transplant requires (stem cell).
