Nurburgring, Germany - Toyota re-innovate. Japanese manufacturers which trying to rise from the tsunami disaster is now ready to present a new hybrid car that will be brought to the endurance car race Nurburgring 24 hours.

As reported by Auto Express, on Saturday (06/25/2011) concept car with convertible model called the Toyota GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept II. Some say this car is actually a potential successor to MR-2 although it has not been confirmed.

Toyota GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept was actually already been shown in exhibitions Tokyo Auto Salon 2010. But in this latest version II is much more sporty body with an improved hybrid system.

All elements of the car have been developed by Gazoo Racing, a team that was behind the appearance of the Lexus LF-A super car.

Toyota's hybrid system on GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept II is the combination of electric motor and conventional gasoline engines.

On the front wheels, Toyota gives four electric motors to drive the two front wheels. While in the rear wheel installed with a capacity of 3.5-liter V6 engine that has a power of 245 bhp. Moreover, the rear wheels are still stuck with one set of electric motors.

By these engine specifications, Toyota GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept II, which has a weight of 1,500 kg has been able to bear the total power of 295 bhp and accelerates from rest to 100 km per hour in less than six seconds.

Toyota also claims the AWD hybrid system which applied at Toyota GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept II is also able to improve vehicle maneuverability while enhancing driving pleasure and increase stability.

But unfortunately, there are no plans to make this car on the list of cars that will be sold by Toyota. But Toyota says it will continue to study all aspects that exist in this car for the later applied to the cars they sell.
