Tough, that's one word that immediately came out when testing the ability of the tablet PC made by Research In Motion, BlackBerry Playbook. What kind of capabilities the BlackBerry Playbook? Check out this short review.
Playbook toughness can directly be felt when you first hold this product. With less than 1 inch thick and weigh no more than 1 pound makes this device steady in the grip.
RIM still do not want to reveal what material they use to wrap Playbook. Back cover is not made of plastic, but using some sort of solid rubber.
In the the front view of Playbook there is no button. The navigation controls directly interact with touch-sensitive screen. Button is only existing at the top of this gadget, that is for the on / off and three multimedia buttons (forward, backward, and pause). While at the bottom there hdmi jack and micro USB.
To start the Playbook, just swipe your finger. The screen on this device is so sensitive, does not need pressure to operate it. Just touch and feels comfortable for typing.

7 inch screen that is used is also not entirely used to display images. Because at the top can be pasted with a kind of tab that can be viewed by users to find files in other folders. To exit the application, just swipe your finger from bottom to top.
Then switch to the video display. Flash-based applications and HTML 5 can be displayed seamlessly on the Playbook. If you do not want to immediately shut down, just move it into other applications.
Dual HD Camera
The camera feature in the Playbook is embedded with two cameras, a camera on the front of 3 mega pixels and 5 mega pixel cameras on the rear as the primary.
When tested in a room with low light intensity, the ability of the two cameras in the Playbook is not too disappointing, quite clean.
Further testing is the speakers which are on the right and left of the screen. Because this is a tablet PC then do not expect too high on the speakers on this product because speakers which existing impressed on the tablet is plain.
On Playbook, graphics quality plays an important role. It can be seen when running videos and games available. For example, when playing the game Quick III, the ability of the OpenGL technology makes the game feel more revive the display.
Media that can be played on Playbook includes video up to 1080p High Definition resolution. The format includes H.264, MPEG, DivX and WMV.
Browsing
Playbook for now is more positioned as a mobile internet device. Therefore not be used to call, because not equipped with a Sim Card slot, these tablets can only be used for Internet access with Wi-Fi.
So Playbook browsing capabilities must be optimized by RIM. One is the ability to display the entire contents of the site. The point is what is shown is not the view for a mobile version, but the exact same version on the computer desktop.
So the user does not need to worry when surfing with this mini device. Because what would they receive will be the same as when surfing on a desktop or notebook computer.
Just for the record, Playbook brings a different OS with BlackBerry handsets. Because Playbook already using BlackBerry Tablet OS operating system based on micro-kernel architecture of QNX Neutrino. Neutrinos have been widely used in medical devices, automotive to Internet routers.
