The deal of the sheet, which facial appearance the song's third verse and the opening terms to She's Leaving Home, took place by the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills
Both songs figure on 1967 baby book Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
When Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was released it was speculated the song was in this area the mind-altering drug LSD.
However, The Beatles denied this, with Lennon saying the inspiration had come from a picture his son Julian had drawn of a classmate named Lucy Vodden - who died of the immune system disease Lupus in 2009.
Complete with crossings out, the sheet reads: "Picture yourself on a train in a station, with plasticine porters with looking glass ties.
"Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile, the girl with kaleidoscope eyes."
From She's Leaving Home it featured the opening words: "Wednesday morning at..."
Within June almost a year ago, John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to A Day within The Life - the dying song from Sgt Pepper - sold on behalf of $1.2m (£810,000), well exceeding the set a price estimated.
